Our vacation home is located in a private cul-de-sac with no through traffic. This very quiet neighborhood provides a beautiful panoramic view of the Kofel and the Laber mountains from our south side terrace. Towards the east, the house borders on meadows and fields with a magnificent view of the Aufacker and Hörnle mountains. You can exit our cul-de-sac towards the west in the Daisenbergerstraße. Our house is only a few minutes walking distance from the town center of Oberammergau.

Oberammergau offers a variety of local
attractions, such as the Passionplay Theater,
the House of Pilatus or the Passion Museum.
From Oberammergau you can reach the
(King Ludwig’s hunting lodge) by car or by
bus in just a few minutes.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, venue of the
1936 Winter Olympics, offers a large
selection of shops and restaurants, but also
attractions, such as Germany’s highest
gorge or the Höllentalklamm gorge and a
multitude of summer or winter sports and
outdoor activities. You can reach Garmisch by car or bus in about 20 minutes from Oberammergau. Cable car service is available to many of the surrounding mountain scenery. You can reach the Pilgrimage Church of Wies (Wieskirche) by car in about 25 minutes. King Ludwig’s Royal Castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau can be reached in about 40 minutes. Cristal clear mountain lakes, such as the Plansee or the Walchensee can be reached by car in 20 minutes or 45 minutes respectively. Other day trip destinations are Murnau am Staffelsee (20 minutes), Kloster Benediktbeuern (about 30 minutes) or Bad Tölz (about 40 minutes). From Oberammergau you can reach Munich in about 1 hour using the A96 motorway. The historic city of Augsburg can be reached by car in about 70 minutes. By route of Garmisch, Mittenwald and Seefeld you can reach Innsbruck, the capital city of Austrian federal state of Tyrol in about 1 hour. Oberammergau and it’s surrounding pre-alpine scenery offers countless hiking- and mountain biking trails with plenty of rustic bavarian mountain lodges on your way, where you can stop, rest and enjoy typical Bavarian food and beer.
